The legend of Brock Purdy continues on Thursday.
Purdy just handed Tom Brady the 3rd largest loss of his career. This is what I call a great story. After Trey Lance and Jimmy G go down, a 3rd string QB gets a chance and now has the opportunity to shine and try to carry this team deep into the playoffs.
It's not often you see a guy go from Mr. Irrelevant to... relevant. And I don't see any reason for him to slow down.
Bad news is, Deebo Samuel did go down last game with a knee injury which is a huge loss for the 49ers, but it looks like he could be back in 3-ish weeks per reports.
One thing is for certain, this Seattle defense is going to have to step up and play better than they have been if they want to keep up with the 49ers here.
The Seahawks are giving up the 3rd most points in the NFL, over 25 points per game. Even worse, they are giving up 31 points in their last 3 games! Not a good recipe when you're going up against a top 8 scoring offense.
Now, don’t get it twisted. Seattle ain't no scrub on offense. They are a top 6 scoring offense and rank in the top 7 for total yards.

Geno and this offense can move the ball and they’ve proven that in past games. The problem is, they're going up against arguably the best defense in the league—#1 in points allowed.
Not only are they the best defense against the run, San Francisco ranks top 12 in passing yards against. Seattle won’t be producing the points they have been over the past few weeks against this stout defense.
Seattle's numbers are a little skewed though, in my humble opinion. Check out who they played their last 5 weeks:
Lost to Carolina
Beat a terrible Rams team
Lost to the Raiders
Beat the Bucs
Beat the Cardinals
Not exactly a strong schedule.
As an underdog, Seattle is 5-3 against the spread. On the other hand, San Fran, when having to cover 3.5 points, has been hitting almost 70% this season.
I'll lay the points here for plus money.
